I would like to introduce my blog with a color wheel. Until recently, I had never used one, even though I am well aware of what colors are complementary and primary. The color wheel is extremely helpful when mixing paints. If you purchase a very intense red, and want to tone it down, you will add a small amount of the complimentary color (green) to it. If you decide to darken it, add a tiny drop of black. This wheel is very useful for other applications, too. It is essential in decorating and remodeling, putting together an outfit, a flower arrangement, and even landscaping. I've been designing graphic images for The Global Report (http://www.theglobalreport.org), and I have found the color wheel invaluable while layering and placing text on top of images.
The balance of hues and saturation in a composition stimulate different sensations within the viewer. Color combinations can stir up anxiety, anger, joy, peace, nostalgia, and the spiritual.
I suppose I should also mention that I'm just beginning to learn some "html" and "css" coding in order to make the aesthetics of this blog more pleasing to the eye.
