THE GHOST IN THE MACHINE

I had a dream last night that people were part robot and part human.  There were some folks who were more robotic than others, and they had very sharp blades for fingers.  I was standing in the middle of them, and I was much smaller and 100% human (that I know of).  They were getting ready for some kind of game.

Perhaps the robots symbolized being on "auto - pilot."  They were partially human, but a measure of these beings were cut off from being alive, or feeling.  I think all the rubbish on TV, Facebook, Twitter, and the corporate take-over/branding has hindered a great part of this society from staying in, or getting in touch with themselves and knowing where they stand as an individual with his/her own emotions and opinions.  I do enjoy seeing what other friends are up to on Facebook, and I think it is a fun tool to communicate with distant companions, but it is becoming the new social meeting place that people talk about when they meet face-to-face.  We don't inherit the full experience of our friends and family through the internet.  Engaging "in the flesh" is still the best.  It's more honest.

The internet is censored.  Most people don't go to the 1000th page of a search to see what their inquiry  returns.  Those first five to ten pages scanned to find the preferred link about a retrieved topic are also the first five to ten pages of links which are mostly placed there by corporate interests.  They also repeat the links on following pages.

Some say those sites list first, because they acquire the most hits.  I argue that the reason they accumulate the most visits is because they are placed at the top of the list, where people look the most.  The internet still allows for people to post just about anything, anytime.  (Like my blog.)  But it can be monitored and deleted.  Yahoo and Google are bought and paid for.  Wikipedia is the first thing that comes up most of the time when searching for a subject definition or description.  Be careful of Wikipedia ... some of the information is well documented and researched, but other subjects have no cited sources, or the ones that are there can be a little outdated.  I have always been skeptical of Wikipedia as a legitimate source of information, and that is mainly due to the fact that no professors, librarians or teachers will accept it on a research paper bibliography.  This is because, for the most part, a lot of Wikipedia entries are written by people who aren't even close to experts on the topic.  They cite sources, but it is easy to be misinformed, as Wikipedia entries are more often than not ... INCOMPLETE.

Take a look at the entry Ghost in the Machine on Wikipedia.  It states at the top of the page: "This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards.  Please improve this article if you can. December 2007."

Back to tangent one.  Robots.  With our internet, our iPhones, iPods, Blue Tooth, reality TV, GPS and branding, it appears that this society is becoming less in touch with the ghost that runs the machine.  The machines are beginning to run the ghosts, now.  When this is the case, we are more easily controlled by a bigger machine, the main server.  The main server doesn't "serve" the other connections in a positive way.  The main server controls the other units, even the remote ones.  This might seem extreme, but when you think about what's in our food (high fructose corn syrup), the way our cities are laid out, the type of vehicles we drive, the energy we use, the material we learn (from Wikipedia or corporate sponsored sources) the wars we pay for, the cost of our living, and HEALTH CARE, to name a few, it becomes apparent that the large corporations which fund our government and keep it well oiled to also need to keep us well oiled in order for them to continue to grow and dominate the world.  ("Well-oiled" is appropriate on a few different levels).

Almost every town and city in the United States has the same chain restaurants, gas stations, and department stores on the outskirts as we zip by on the interstate.  The identical mainstream media sources are aired across the land to most homes who can afford to receive them, with few options to alternative coverage or differing perspectives.  It does appear to be (duh duh-duh DUN) MIND CONTROL.

It is set up so that we must rely on it in order to live in it.  But in my dream, the players were not complete robots.  Some people had more flesh and color than others.   We are not completely lost to suckling the corporate system.  There are always ways to find your way to your true feelings, satisfaction, peace and health.  I know that not everyone is completely lost, bound up and gagged to the pipe.

The power of our dreams!
